2018 Medical Mission Trip to Haiti!!

Calling all medical professionals, the Haiti team is organizing its first medical mission trip to Haiti, and we need you! On all of our prior trips, we have encountered a number of people, infants to elderly, who had serious medical issues. In our beloved village of Leveque, there are no health care facilities. Access to clinics or hospitals is a luxury as the transportation costs to get there can be prohibitive. By providing a Medical Mission Trip, we will be able to set up a temporary clinic in Leveque and work alongside a Haitian doctor to treat people in the community. We will also need non-medical folks to help with check in, entertaining children and
much more!

The dates of the trip will be February 21st through February 27th, 2018. We will be traveling out of Philadelphia to Port au Prince. The tentative cost of this trip will be $1,500 and a $500 deposit is needed by November 15, 2017 to secure your spot. Please contact Cheri Miller (cheri@hopewellumc.org, 610-316-5877) or Carey Burke (carey_burke@hotmail.com, 610-804-7839) for more information!

Per person cost is $3,960.00 (airfare, hotels, most meals and admissions). This is a spiritual/historic/entertaining journey of a lifetime! See Pastor Steve or Dr. Dave for information. The group size is limited; a deposit this fall will guarantee your place!

Zoom - A New Serving Opportunity

ZOOM is a new transportation program, developed by Family Service of Chester County. The purpose is to get people to and/or from the Community Volunteers in Medicine clinic in West Chester for treatment by healthcare providers who volunteer their services.

Perhaps you could serve as a ZOOM Volunteer Driver. Drivers self-schedule themselves on-line when they have time to drive. When a ride is accepted, the Driver then contacts the Rider to arrange pick-up details. The Rider might be a pregnant woman for pre-natal care; or a mom with a child; or a senior; or others.

You can be the caring friend who provides transportation as a ZOOM Volunteer Driver.

Required: valid drivers license and proof of auto insurance.

Fee for background check paid by Volunteer Chester County.

For more information, contact Deb Boyd, boyd@hopewellumc.org.
